Do participants receive a certification card?
Participants may receive a BLS Provider Course Completion Card when the course is delivered as an AHA BLS Provider course and all requirements are successfully completed.
How long does the course take?
Course length depends on the format, class size and whether participants are completing an initial course or renewal. AHA lists the full classroom BLS Provider Course at approximately 4.5 hours with breaks, and the BLS Renewal Course at approximately 4 hours with breaks.
Can this course be completed onsite?
Yes. Heartbeat can provide onsite group training for healthcare offices, dental practices, clinics, schools, care teams and organizations.
Can we schedule training for our whole staff?
Yes. Group training is available for teams that need to complete the same CPR credential or renewal at the same time.
What information do you need to schedule a class?
Please provide your preferred date and time, training location, participant count, onsite contact, course format, and certification needs. Let us know if you would like AHA booklets for $10 per participant or a printable packet. We also need to know whether your location has a TV or HDMI connection, or if alternative AV equipment is needed, and whether tables, chairs, and adequate floor space are available. Please include any parking or building entrance instructions.
Can this course be combined with other safety training?
Yes. Healthcare teams often pair the BLS Provider Course with additional training such as Bloodborne Pathogens, Stop The Bleed, Pediatric Basic Life Support or workplace safety training.
